Karori Golf Club

New Rules for Adoption

Good Morning Members

All incorporated societies need to comply with the requirements of new legislation by 1 April 2026 which has necessitated the rewrite of the club rules.

As Karori Golf Club is also a registered charity, this status is dependent on us being registered as an incorporated society, so this exercise meets both of our regulatory obligations.

I want to acknowledge and thank NZ Golf for preparing a template for us to work on, and George Blundell (Lawyer and Member) for assisting us in drafting our new rules.

These rules need to be adopted at our Annual General Meeting which will be held on 6 December 2025 at 10am at the Karori Golf Club, clubhouse.

We are circulating these to you to allow time for all members to read and understand the rules before this time.

Rules are necessarily difficult to write and digest but every effort has been made to make them as permissive as possible while meeting our obligations as an incorporated society and charity to our members.

I will move their adoption at the AGM.

I have no doubt that there may be some amendments to this draft, please be advised that the committee have gone through an exhaustive process to get to this point and it is unlikely that major changes will now be recommended to the AGM.

However, feedback to rules@karorigolf.co.nz no later than Friday 14 November is welcomed. Feedback will then be assessed and if supported, advised to members in time for proper consideration by the AGM on 6 December.

President
