MEMBERSHIP TYPES AND ACCESS TO FACILITIES -- AS AT 01 SEP 2025
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS:
- To apply for any membership category applicants must be resident in New Zealand, provide full contact details including residential address, telephone number, email, date of birth, and previous membership numbers (if any).
- Memberships are payable annually in full by the date specified in the invoice provided by Karori Golf Club.
- Memberships may be paid in installments at the discretion of Karori Golf Club and such arrangements may include an installment fee. Members paying by installments are obliged to pay all amounts in full regardless of any change in their personal circumstances.
- Memberships are non-refundable in the event that the member chooses to resign or is unable to use the facilities provided by Karori Golf Club.
- Memberships will be automatically renewed annually in the same category unless advised otherwise by the member.
- Members may apply to upgrade their membership to a higher category and will be advised of the change cost (if any) by the Club. Members may not downgrade their membership to a lesser category during their membership year.
MEMBERSHIP ENTITLEMENTS:
Unless otherwise stated, membership at Karori Golf Club includes:
- Playing rights -- in accordance with your membership category
- Preferential weekend tee bookings
- Free use of our practice facilities
- Eligibility to enter club competitions and play with various groups on a Sunday (our Club Day) - subject to any membership category restrictions
- Eligibility for selection in our interclub teams - subject to any membership category restrictions
- Discounted lessons from our club professional
- Reciprocal playing rights at our partner clubs
FULL ORDINARY MEMBERS:
Shall be entitled to always use the course and practice facilities, subject to it not being closed. Only Ordinary Members with official handicaps are eligible to win Club trophies unless otherwise specified.
FULL ORDINARY INTRODUCTORY MEMBERS:
This class of membership is available to new members that have not previously been a Full Ordinary member or Introductory member of the Karori Golf Club at any time in the preceding five years. Introductory members shall have the same playing rights and rights to use the facilities as Ordinary Members.
JUNIOR 18 YEARS & UNDER:
Shall have the same rights as Ordinary Members. Evidence of birth date (passport, driver's license, birth certificate, student ID) is required to confirm eligibility for this membership category.
FULL ORDINARY 19 -- 25 YEARS:
Shall have the same rights as Ordinary Members. Evidence of birth date (passport, driver's license, birth certificate, student ID) is required to confirm eligibility for this membership category.
FULL ORDINARY 26 -- 31 YEARS:
Shall have the same rights as Ordinary Members. Evidence of birth date (passport, driver's license, birth certificate, student ID) is required to confirm eligibility for this membership category.
FULL ORDINARY 32 -- 40 YEARS:
Shall have the same rights as Ordinary Members. Evidence of birth date (passport, driver's license, birth certificate, student ID) is required to confirm eligibility for this membership category.
9-HOLE MEMBER:
Eligible to play one round only of nine holes per day and use the practice facilities, subject to it not being closed. Entitled to play an 18-hole round if a 9-Hole green fee is paid. Eligible for 9-Hole club competitions and trophies.
9-HOLE INTRODUCTORY MEMBER:
This class of membership is available to new 9-Hole members that have not previously been a 9-Hole Member, a Full Ordinary member, or an Introductory member of the Karori Golf Club at any time in the preceding five years. 9-Hole Introductory members shall have the same playing rights and rights to use the facilities as 9-Hole Members.
MIDWEEK MEMBERS:
Shall have the same playing rights as Ordinary Members have, except that they shall not be entitled to use the course or practice facilities, other than the clubhouse, on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays unless they pay green fees. Eligible only for midweek club competitions and trophies. Exception: Women's Club Championship.
SUMMER MEMBER:
Shall have the same playing rights as Ordinary Members from 1 October -- 31 March each year. They are welcomed an encouraged to take part in Club events held over the summer months.
SUMMER TERTIARY STUDENT WEEKDAY (3 MONTHS):
This category allows 'weekday' play only and is available to full-time students of a recognised NZ tertiary institution for a three-month duration during the period from 1 December to 28 February each year. A copy of the applicant's current student status and birth certificate, passport, or driver license is required to obtain this membership.
DISCONTINUED
COUNTRY MEMBER:
A full member of another New Zealand Golf Club where the full annual membership costs are equal or more than the Karori Golf Club subscription. Players are entitled to use the course and practice facilities at all times but cannot enter club competitions.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER:
This class of membership is available to players who are affiliated with NZ Golf through membership of another Club. Associate Members shall pay a reduced 'Associate' Green Fee for each round played at the Club in accordance with the fees published at the time. On payment of Green Fees the Associate Member shall have the right to play a single round and the related use of the Club practice facilities and Clubhouse.
