Women's Club Champs

Due to weather, the bronze championship was postponed from last Sunday until 19 Oct. This means both bronze and silver will compete on the same Sunday. Any players not already entered can put their names on the start sheet for 19 Oct 2025. Here's hoping for a few more players to ensure a strong competition. Please direct any questions to Lauren Robey (Match Committee Member) at lauren@karorigolf.co.nz

9H Ladies

The nine hole ladies played the back nine on Tuesday in lovely sunny weather before the rain came. The competition was a Nett Medley round. The winner was Hilary Newby from Lindsey Pickering and Maree Goodall. (Cheers Jane)

Wednesday Club

Seventeen golfers enjoyed great weather for the Par competition on Wednesday. The winner was Mike Suggate (+2) from Saint Kennach (+1) with balls given down to -2. Gunter Karau was nearest the pin but there were no twos recorded on the day. Marcosa Santos won the raffle with Mike Suggate second. Everyone had a free chocolates. (Cheers Patrick)

Wednesday Twilight

The weather conditions are gradually improving, it was at least 5 degrees warmer this week than last. In recognition of this vast improvement, 31 golfers came out to play.

The winner was David Eley with 20 Stableford points, who won on countback over Luanne Cockburn followed by John Stubbe on 19 points, who took out third place, over Eric McCauley on countback. The system strangely did not recognise Andrew Gardiner's result of 19 points, so he came third too. Adrian Porter got NTP and Richard Reith scored the only 'two'.

The “interesting thing that happened” prize this week went to Geoff Lee - a tale about a chip shot in his four that managed to knock two others' balls off the green.

A big thank you to William and Zac for BBQing, as always to Brigitte and Karen for the lovely salads, and to Isaac behind the bar. It was a great night, and we encourage you to come along and join in the fun of Twilight next week.

Term 4 Junior Coaching Programme

The 8-week Junior Coaching Programme starts back this Sunday. Priority on the practice area (fairway and/or putting green) will be for programme participants between 12 - 3pm. Every second week, programme participants will be on the course. This is all loaded on the start sheet, so please consider this when planning your Sunday golf.
