Committee Update

Announcement - Professional Coach for Karori Golf Club

We are pleased to advise, that once we have concluded final formalities, Daniel Sheriff golf professional, will join us to provide coaching services and to resuscitate our Junior Academy.

Daniel will contract his services to us and will charge for coaching and any other professional services he may supply.

In the past our Junior Academy provided great activity during terms one and four each year with many of the young golfers performing well in interclub. It is good that this will now be an ongoing feature of Karori Golf Club activity.

We will advise a start date for Daniel and he is hopeful that he will be able to get the juniors back on the practice range before Christmas.

Daniels services to members will be well communicated.

He is also a competitive golfer and wishes to continue to play on the mini-tours, for instance the "Charles Tour".

City of Wellington

You will get more from Club Captain Deane Milne in the next while, but a reminder that entries close Wednesday 4 November so that the draw can be done and published.

Played in two divisions for the men, and a women's divisions there is a prize pool worth in excess of $6000, incentive prizes, raffles and a yummy lunch provided with the entry.

Enter on line through the events page in our website, or let us know at clubhouse@karorigolf.co.nz and we will add your name. Entries are coming in steadily and will be capped at 108 so don't delay.

Volunteers

At Karori we are lucky to have a number of volunteers who attend to much of the course cleanup, keeping areas around the clubhouse and carpark tidy, manage the clubhouse and bar, and even manage the club.

I'm not going to single any person out for mention. Everyone who volunteers contributes and their efforts are greatly appreciated.

Heading in to City of Wellington there is likely to be a callout for some extra volunteer days.  Please, if you have time we would appreciate any help you can give.

Stableford Competition this Labour Weekend

This will be played in two divisions each day over the weekend with your best score over two rounds determining the winner. Division 1 handicaps up to 15.0, Division 2 handicaps from 15.1 to 40.0. Stableford and Net Eagles.

The well performed golfers will get honourable mention in Captains Corner.
