Bad Weather Event and What Happens Next

Course Closed until further notice.

Thirty hardy souls turned out to get started in cleaning up the course from the bad weather we have had recently.  It was good to see a number of new helpers too, including two of our new women members. Hopefully this is a trend. There was a job for everyone with the majority of helpers staying after lunch. A big thank you everyone, awesome "mahi" and good camaraderie in the clubhouse at lunchtime.

The tree pictured is the one that fell across the 9th fairway.  It was strong and healthy and the wind snapped it like a matchstick.

Overnight a couple more trees came down so those using chainsaws were kept busy.  sadly there are a number of trees that are going to require the skills of an arborist to remove them and/or to make them safe.

So once again for the avoidance of any doubt, the course is closed until further notice.

TK believes that it is unlikely to be open for play until after Friday.  An assessment will be made at the close of work tomorrow evening.

Wednesday Competition and Twilight will not be happening tomorrow.

TK did say, the more people who turn up to help over the next couple of days, the earlier the course will open. Once again we are asking for volunteers to help out from 7.30am tomorrow to assist the clean up effort.

If you were keen to play tomorrow why not come out and help  clean up the course so that we can get back to playing golf as soon as possible. Every little bit helps. There is a job for everyone.  Just being able to hold a rake is skill enough.

Lunch will be provided.

Meet at the clubhouse at 7.30am to be assigned tasks. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring a pair of gloves. You may wish to bring a good rake with you too.

If you can't make it for 7.30am, arrive when you can and come out to where we will be working.  It will be self evident.

I hope to see many of you in the morning.

Lunchtime.  A happy bunch of volunteers helping the staff to get the course playable.  More mahi to go, but a great start today. Lunch supplied by Hell's Pizzas one of the club's sponsors.  It was delicious.
