Women's Club Champs - Final Call

Both silver and bronze championships will compete this Sunday. Any players not already entered can put their names on the start sheet. Please direct any questions to Lauren Robey (Match Committee Member) at lauren@karorigolf.co.nz

Wednesday Club

Twenty golfers enjoyed great weather for the Stableford competition on Wednesday. The winner was Alex Lim (36 pts) from Derek Fitzgibbon (35 pts) on countback from Mark Peck (35 pts), with balls given down to 30 pts. Bob Cavana was nearest the pin but there were no twos recorded on the day. Peter Wilcox won the raffle with John Timperley second. Everyone had a free chocolate. (Cheers Patrick)

Wednesday Twilight

We had a lovely evening for Twilight golf this week. High scoring has begun!

In first place was Tim Brosnahan on a whopping 22 stableford points, second place went to Ryan DuPlessis on 20 points and Russell Dickson came in third place on 19 points (over Barnie Van Biljon, Graeme Couper and Mark Clooney (our regular Twilighter from Royal Wellington who was playing off a ‘zero’ handicap - NINETEEN POINTS!!!)). Ryan took out the NTP and one of our newbies Jesse Mulqueen scored a ‘Two’ on hole #4. A prize also went to Hayden O’Connor, from Boulcott Farm, for his eagle on hole #9 (this was Hayden’s first eagle ever and it is a pity Twilight results are not officially recorded). Thanks to all our helpers, especially the McNaughtan family who BBQed our dinner this week. See you all next week for another evening of social/fun golf and dinner.

Term 4 Junior Coaching Programme

The 8-week Junior Coaching Programme retuens this Sunday (after a false start last week). Priority on the practice area (fairway and/or putting green) will be for programme participants between 12 - 3pm. Every second week, programme participants will be on the course. This is all loaded on the start sheet, so please consider this when planning your Sunday golf.

Adopt-a-Hole

The President has put out a call for members to adopt-a-hole leading up to the City of Wellington Classic. Last year,  every hole had was adopted - lets see if we can match that effort.

Adopting-a-Hole between now and 01 Nov involves:

  • Organising a small group (1 - 4 members)
  • Adopting one of the vacant Holes above (1 - 18)
  • Repairing divots/pitch marks from tee block to green. Sand & seed provided. This could be done each time your group play your adopted hole
  • Collecting sticks under trees & placing in a pile

Training is provided and carts will be made available (if available). There's a list on the wall beside the Managers Office - just write your name up and email: TK@karorigolf.co.nz.
