We're delighted to announced another new sponsor - HELL Pizza Karori. It's great to have such a well known brand involved with our club. HELL have recently opened a Karori outlet and offer KGC members a special - see details below. Daylight savings starts this Sunday - remember to turn your clocks forward 1 hour. Congratulations to Nick Mills and Nick Staite for winning the Bertram Cup last weekend - well done (we got there in the end!). Other highlights for this week are:

  • WGI Futures - KGC is hosting this event today. The course is currently closed. The B9 will be open from 12:30pm and entire course from 2:15pm.
  • Westward Ho - play-offs commence this Sunday.
  • Twilight Golf - commences next Wed!
  • Practice Range - ettiquette (and cost to visitors) outlined below.
  • Summer Memberships - run from 01 Oct - 31 Mar (the best golfing months of the year). $860 - please spread the word.

Wednesday Club

Eighteen players set forth for the Par competition on Wednesday. The winner was Malcolm McAlister (for the second week in a row) on +3, from Tim Brosnahan and Michael Cox on +1. Balls were given down to all square. Christopher Pearce was nearest the pin but Michael Cox had the only two of the day on the 2nd. Tim Brosnahan won the raffle with Marcosa Santos second. Everyone had some free chocolates. (Cheers Patrick)

Westward Ho Shield

Congratulations to the 12 players who entered and automatically qualified for the play-offs. The top four qualifiers earn a bye this week, while the others start their knock-out matches this Sunday. Good luck to all involved.

Women's Club Champs

The Womens Club Championships will be held in October so the winners can participate in the Champion of Champions competition run by Wellington Golf.

  • Bronze players (18.5 upwards) will play a net round on 05 Oct off Yellow Tees.
  • Silver players (0 - 18.5) will play a Nett round on 19 Oct off Yellow Tees.

The two dates are to ensure that as many women members as possible can participate. It was great to see some newer members compete in the Bertram Cup and I hope everyone eligible will sign up for this competition. An email will be sent to each member asking for entries.

Looking forward to two great days of competition. Please direct any questions to Denise Marten (Ladies Club Captain) at denise@karorigolf.co.nz.

Practice Range Ettiquette

Just a reminder to all members about practice range etiquette:

  • Cost: Use of the Practice Fairway is free for members and $10 for visitors. Visitors must pay BEFORE practicing.
  • Mark Your Practice Balls: So they don’t get mixed up with others.
  • Retrieving Balls: For safety, make sure you communicate with other users before retrieving your balls.
  • Sand Your Divots: Hit balls in a vertical line, creating divots one behind the other, to avoid tearing up the turf.
  • Don't Offer Unsolicited Advice: Avoid giving swing tips to other players unless they ask for it.
  • Keep it Tidy: Don't leave broken tees, wrappers, or other rubbish in your area.

Doggy Doo!

We've had several complaints from members about doggy-doo on the course. Dogs are welcome, but owners need to always abide by our dog policy:

  • Pick-up their DOO!
  • Dogs must always be under control of the owner.
  • On the course dogs must be Kiwi Avoidance Trained (KAT) to be allowed off their lead. If a dog is not KAT trained, it must always be on the lead whilst on the course or practice area.
  • In the Clubhouse, dogs are not allowed upstairs or in any of the offices, locker rooms or bathrooms. Dogs are allowed in the downstairs foyer and on the outside deck.

A register of KAT trained dogs is kept in the shop. Please provide details to Clubhouse staff to allow your dog to roam freely.

New Sponsor - HELL Pizza Karori

We're delighted to announce another new sponsor - HELL Pizza Karori. Located at 156 Karori Road, Marsden, most of us drive past it on our way to and from the golf course. HELL Karori open in July 2025 and is our new Hole 6 sponsor. They offer KGC members a special deal (code in the flyer below) so next time you're running a little late for dinner duties, just order through the App from the 18th green and pick it up on the way through - dinner solved! A huge welcome and thank you to HELL Karori.
