Matt’s Message: (Greenkeeper’s memo)
To improve our greens the greenstaff worked to verti-cut the greens on Monday and waited for a break in the weather to allow sanding to take place. This may mean the greens are unable to be cut over the weekend. We will just have to wait and see how things pan out. They will take a couple of days to settle once this has happened please be patient with us as in the long run this is the best course of action for our greens.

CLUB COMMITTEE CORNER

Karori Golf Club Covid-19 Vaccination Policy from Friday 3 December
The club committee has met to develop a club policy to apply under the “Traffic Light” Covid management system that will apply nationally from 3 December. The policy adopted is that being implemented by other regional clubs.
The Committee has resolved that a “no jab no play/enter” rule will apply from Friday the 3rd of December. This means that all members and visitors must be double vaccinated by that date to enjoy the use of club facilities. All clubrooms’ staff will also need to be fully vaccinated.
We believe this is in the best interests of members and staff, and is essential in ensuring both compliance with Government policy and the health and safety of all. This policy will both reduce the risks associated withCovid-19 and ensure that the Club can operate with fewer restrictions than would be the case if we didn’t adopt such a rule.
From that date members and visitors must present proof of double vaccination to enter the clubrooms or play on the course. - If proof of vaccination cannot be provided then the members and guests will be asked to leave the premises until proof of vaccination is presented.
KARORI GOLF CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 2021 AGM is on Saturday 4 December at the clubhouse at 9:30 am. A fun tournament will be held immediately after the meeting. There will be a stableford trophy event for men and women called Christmas Cheer which is open to all members who have attended the AGM. The notice of meeting is up on the Club noticeboard as are the forms for nomination on the committee. Remember your vaccination passport as proof of vaccination.

MURRAY HALBERG DAY - EAGLES EVENT RESULTS

Thank you so much for your participation and contributions to the success of our recent Murray Halberg Day at Karori Golf Club last Saturday. We had a pleasing field of 72 take on the might of Karori and players returned to the clubhouse having thoroughly enjoyed their golfing experience and the wonderful company they were keeping! This was followed by many lucky recipients picking up prizes in the raffle. The prizegiving was when we acknowledged those who took on Karori and came out on top showing fine form and outstanding scores
Overall Men’s Winner -Alan Henwood 42 stableford points
Overall Women’s Winner - Marcosa Santos 40 stableford points
Twos were scored by only two players, Mark Peck and Victor Diem on the 6th and 2nd holes. This was followed by the old favourite auction, where members and visitors were treated to Mr Keith Gaskin encouraging bidding for a range of wondrous treats - won’t mention them here as they may end up as future christmas gifts. Needless to say, the freshly caught, free range whitebait that the KGC Captain had donated would be a welcome sight at any Christmas table!. Thank you once again to the Eagles for their organisation and slick running of this event. A good time was had by all and the amount that was raised for the Murray Halberg Trust was a pleasing $3696.70. What a fabulous contribution that was made for the Murray Halberg Foundation!
