Placing through the green continues and Matt’s plea is for people to take extreme caution - particularly on paths, slopes and near creek edges.


On the noticeboard you will see information which shares with all volunteers the health and safety requirements for ‘adopt a ditch’




Covid Update

This is a reminder to ALL members that in compliance with the Government announcement of Alert Level 2, and previous experience, the Club will follow the protocols from today until Sunday 27 June 2021..The Clubhouse and Bar will be open serving food and drinks. You must sit only in the group you played with and distance yourselves from others.

Please use common sense to ensure you use the contact tracing app of the Ministry of Health and wipe your hands after touching anything such as someone else's clubs, score cards, flag stick, no hand shaking etc.

TRACKING PROTOCOLS

People who are in the clubhouse, but not playing, must also register, so we can track and trace.

SCORE CARDS

Cards can be obtained but not to be touched - marked or signed - by another player. Please wipe the computer screen after use. Scores can be entered digitally using hands cleaning protocols. Scores can also be entered on the DotGolf scoring app.

CARTS

  • · Clubs and carts stored at the club can be used by one player only.

  • · When retrieving these from storage please do not touch anyone else’s clubs trundler

  • · Wipe down the key pad door handle after use.

  • · Private carts should be restricted to just the one user under level 2.

IN THE CLUBROOMS·

  • Players must sit with those they played with,

  • Tables will be “distanced” according to Government rules, please observe those rules.

  • Only one player to approach the bar area at a time. There will be social distancing marks on the floor, no more than three at a time in the line.

  • Only Eftpos will be accepted in the clubhouse - no cash - please sanitise hands before and after use. Sanitiser will be available.

  • Shop will be open please do not touch any items you do not wish to purchase.

GOLF CLUB/TRUNDLER STORAGE ROOM

The trundler storage room clean up is underway. You will have noticed there is a little more room than usual. On Monday there will be blank labels put on items left in the trundler room (including lockers). We are asking members who store their equipment to please write their name on the designated label. This will assist us to do a stock take to ensure payments are up to date. Any unnamed items will be removed after 3 months.


BERTRAM CUP

The final of the Bertram Cup is on Sunday 27 June. We wish Martin Currie, Michael Hyung and Gail Kirkland, Wayne Cook all the very best for this tussle.


KEN AND ROSE RIGARLSFORD TROPHY EVENT

We will be looking into the programme and seeking an alternative date for this event - looking for one where the golfing gods are looking down on us with sunshine would be great!


WESTWARD HO SHIELD

Here we have another trophy event to test your skill and expertise. This is a singles matchplay on handicap event off the white tees. You need to ensure you have entered by Wednesday 30 June. This cut off date will be strictly enforced so please make sure you register before this date.

You can enter online or on the Club noticeboard. The qualifying round is nett medal on Sunday 4th July and depending on the number of entries it will be 16 or 8 to qualify.



Hole 4 ‘High Tee’ - Hole in One Challenge

Thanks to our sponsor Richard Reith at Collective Real Estate for putting up a hole in one challenge on the 4th hole. If you get a hole in one on the 4th hole during a competition you will win an incredibly nice bottle of Jean-Marc Vigreux-Frere Champagne! Competitions include Interclub, Sunday Club Day, Shootout, and Twilight. Good luck to all!

New in the shop are some sleeves of Callaway Supersofts in various colours for $18.00 each.

SCORECARDS

If you want to avoid printing cards, use the golf.co.nz app instead, it has a scorecard enabled. Simply use the clubhouse wifi to open it and the scorecard before you tee off - then it can operate in offline mode.
