Eagle's Murray Halberg Day Tournament

The course is green and stunning, there are prizes galore and the draw has been done for a shotgun teeoff on Saturday 21 November for this annual event. Karori Golf Club has always contributed significantly in its donation to this worthy cause. So much is done with the proceeds to help encourage young people into sport. Please come along and support. If you haven't entered yet there we may be able to squeeze you in - contact the club on Saturday morning to check.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

All the very best to Celia Howden, our Women's Silver Club Champion who is competing on Saturday 21 November at Miramar in the Champion of Champions Event.

The Men's Champion of Champions is to be held on Sunday 13 December (this clashes with our Closing Day) at  Manor Park so it is understandable that our key Men's matchplay winners will not be in attendance at our closing day. We wish them all the very best for their individual and team event.

AGM - Saturday 5 December 9.30am

You are most welcome to attend the Karori Golf Club's Annual General Meeting on Saturday at 9.30am. Following these proceedings will be a disc draw.

SHOOTOUT - Sunday 6 December - Cut off for this is Thursday 3 December to allow for contact to be made to those who have qualified.

The Men's and Women's SHOOTOUT will be held on Sunday 6 December. If you have made the final 19 (for men) and final 10 (for women) you will be contacted and then need to advise your attendance. This is important as there are many eager players who are on the reserves bench waiting for their chance to get into this draw............  The days are counting down before the final draw is released so get those cards in...... CHECK THE NOTICEBOARD FOR AN UPDATE.

CLOSING DAY - Sunday 13 December (Competition details to follow next Friday Flash)

Please mark this in your diaries as a time to show your support for those who have achieved excellence in winning our major events at Karori Golf Club. A special invitation will be sent out next week to those who have won trophies and we encourage your attendance at the presentation. We all want to have the opportunity to celebrate your achievement so please try to be there. If you are unable to attend please RSVP to fionakearnz@gmail.com.

MINERS ARMS BOWL

One of our biggest trophies in our cabinet is up for grabs in December 2020 and January and February 2021.  This competition is open to all 18 hole members (men and women). It is an aggregate of three Fourball Bestball stableford rounds, one in each month. You arrange your own partners (pairs). Rounds are to be nominated and card annotated before commencement. Marker must be another Karori Golf Club member. Results are recorded on the sheet in the results sheet in the foyer. Where there is a tie for first place, there will be joint winners.  To enter just add your names to the sheet on the noticeboard - its that easy!

Trophy Events for 2021

Karori Golf Club is steeped in history and tradition. We have some significant trophies which will be reinstated for the coming season. Some of the trophies will be for Men and some will be mixed events. We have had success with our Club Day initiative this year and it has been due to the flexibility with tee-times that participation has increased. We would like to build on this and look forward to 2021 (Covid uninterrupted) season. A list of the events that will be offered will be shared on the noticeboard and in Friday Flash once programme is confirmed.

Thursday evening. It’s a weekly tee off 4.30-5.30. A $20 entry includes BBQ Dinner. It's a great way to play fun social golf.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

Please keep up the handwashing, the checking in, and all of the other usual precautions around this. The authorities fear people are getting lax, and the events of this week have shown it can resurface very quickly.

KARORI CUP

Club Day on a Sunday has shown an increase in participation which is a positive spin, it’s so much fun out there, then reading the results later.

The Karori Cup is a year-long event based on Stableford Competition on Sundays. All you need to do to enter is hit "YES" for Club Day.

At the end of November we will be calculating the best 10 stableford rounds from each player to find out the 2020 Karori Cup winner. There is definitely still plenty of time to get those good score cards coming in!
