Hi Members
It’s club championships weekend. If you see two golfers with furrowed brows on the tee behind you on Sunday, they have right of way so let them through. Cheering and polite applause is allowable, yelling “get in the hole” is also permissible. Hope you are surviving the gales … and we don’t mean the one called Kirkland.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS The finalists have been found, and by Sunday night we will have our 2020 Club Champions. Here are the draws and tee times for the big day, best wishes to all concerned, and congratulations for making it this far.

MATTS MESSAGE
This week we have just focused on getting the course up to a respectable standard for the Men's and Women's Club Championship finals on Sunday.. Everything has been cut twice and the course is looking mint! With all hands on that we haven't had time to do much clearing and fixing of the 10th yet. This is on the plan for next week. We would just like some nice weather to finish it all off.
NEW COURSE
NZ Golf have recently rated the yellow tees for men, see below.
Our aim is to be able to offer a shorter course for our Junior boys and hopefully in the future Junior girls. This will also help us automate the summer twilight competition.
Feedback from members is welcome on the mens yellow course, we hope to go live with it next Friday in time for the school holidays meaning anyone can print a card for the yellow tees and can experience a completely different challenge.
Talking of Juniors will also be running a Junior Futures Programme on 8th of Oct starting at 9.30, if you know of a young person interested in taking up the game get them along, the flyer is attached.

SCORECARDS
If you want to avoid printing cards, use the golf.co.nz app instead, it has a scorecard enabled. Simply use the clubhouse wifi to open it and the scorecard before you tee off - then it is able to operate in offline mode.
Try it out in the safety of your own home. It’s much, much easier than putting on the 11th.
Hopefully this will not be for too long, stay safe and do the right thing.
COVID SCANNING
For those of you with smartphones and the Dot.Golf app, please use that to check in at the course. You must still check in or scan the QR Code (it’s that weird jigsaw puzzle thing) as per the Government request of this week
