Karori Golf Club COVID-19 UPDATE for play at
Covid-19  LEVEL 3


After much consideration the Committee has decided to open the Course for play as of Saturday May 2.


The Club’s Conditions of Play are set out below as are NZ Golf Level 3 Facilities conditions . These meet the Government’s requirements for the playing of golf under Covid -19 Level 3 restrictions and will be reviewed and amended as required. The Conditions of Play are intended to ensure the health and well-being of our members at this difficult time of lockdown.


Nevertheless it is understood that many of our members will not and should not put themselves at risk by attending the course. We note in particular that ‘at risk people’ (including those over 70) may need to take extra measures to protect themselves and that the Ministry of Health recommends that these people stay at home for their own protection.



Conditions of Play:


1.       Bookings and playing times:


Only club members who are currently financial can enter the Karori Golf Club Inc. premises. Non-members may not play.


You may play on your own or in your “bubble” as constituted under Covid Level 3 requirements. There will be 1 tee time per hour for a “Bubble” of two with other tee times for individual play.   


No convenient ‘golfers bubbles may be formed for the purpose of playing golf.


·        To play you MUST make a booking via the Dot Golf system no later than 5 pm the day before you wish to play golf. If you are not a current user of Dotgolf we recommend you register using your club membership 216 and your four digit club number and set a password, or download the Dot Golf app to your phone


·        No play is allowed without a registration via the Dot Golf system


.        Only one booking per member may be held at any one time.


.        You must arrive ready to play and leave the premises immediately after play.


·        Bookings are to be made via the NZ Golf Dotgolf system only, Tee booking online is available now.


·         Adrian Porter will oversee all bookings


.        Compliance with the requirements for play will be monitored by greenkeepers, and committee members on an intermittent basis.


.          If you don’t have a booking you will be asked to leave.




On Saturdays and Sundays only nine holes will be allowed and slots will be able to be booked Teeing off at holes 1 or 10. 


Weekdays 18 holes will be allowed -   teeing off at hole 1 only


·        Tee starting times will be between 8am and 2pm.  Each time slot is 10 minutes apart, with 1 slot at 20 past the hour reserved for a bubble.


·        Your booking confirms acceptance by you that you will adhere to the Conditions of Play stated here and to the NZ Golf Level 3 directives.


2.       Facilities during Covid Level 3:


·         The main gates (only point of entry and exit) will be opened at 7.45 am and closed at 4 pm.


·         The Clubhouse will be closed.


·         All toilet facilities on the course are closed


·         All practise areas i.e. putting green, practise fairway and nets are closed.


·         All ball washers and drinking fountain have been decommissioned


·         No formed seating is to be used


·         There will be no carts permitted


3.       Course:


·        The tee times have been staggered to ensure that no two players (other than those in a bubble) will be in close proximity.  In any case you must ensure that social distancing rules are followed (i.e. there are 2 meters between players)


·         Play to the hole in the centre of each green.


·        The hole cup will be inverted so there will be no need to touch the hole at any time.


·        No flagsticks or bunker rakes on the course. Please smooth out bunkers as well as you can


.        No scorecards will be provided.


4.      Our greenkeepers will be working to their own operating rules during the   lockdown. Please respect this and maintain appropriate isolation distances at all times.
