Crikey. Lots has happened; lots is happening. Lots of members out there making the club better for everyone. Please be quick to register for the Prodrive City of Wellington ... it will help put pressure on others to confirm registration and ensure another sell-out.
Harcourts Twilight Golf
We had glorious weather for Twilight last night and the course was a real picture in the setting sun. An excellent turnout for the first night with 20 people providing good competition over the yellow tees with Warren Rogers, a visitor from Hamilton, taking out the top prize with 24 stableford points, followed by Keith Chung and Gail Kirkland on 23 points.
A fine BBQ dinner was provided by Sara followed. A great success all round. Every Thursday from 5.00. Join us!
Club Champions
Trevor Brown and Sue Murray are our two champions of champions for 2015. Congratulations! We’re proud of you. This year’s Club Champs were excellent and played in terrific spirit. Well done all those who participated, especially our champions.

Karori Cricket gets hit for six
You may have noticed Karori Cricket’s billboard that targets us golfers, “Anyone can hit a stationary ball”. Very amusing … but as you know a bit misleading. We have replied and Karori Cricket has responded! Check out our facebook page for the exchange (you can access it by hitting the link at top of our webpage. Feel free to “Like” or “Share”.
Course update
The coring and sanding seems to have gone really well. See the Wednesday Club's assessment below. Scott wants to pass on a big thanks to Keith Gaskin and his team for picking up the cores so the greens could get back to mint condition quicker.
NZIS Tournament
There’s been a good response to the NZIS on Friday 30 October. It’s an Ambrose Day kicking off at midday. Heaps of prizes so the price of $25 for our members is a beautie. Register with the club today. Registration form attached or just contact the club office. AJ from Prodrive has a tip for you
Stay hydrated - Heading into summer the best tip we can give you is stay hydrated, dehydration severely effects you concentration, touch and feel. We recommend at least 2 bottles of water to be consumed per round on a hot day
Arjay Property Services
This week’s club sponsor is Arjay, Wellington’s oldest residential property management company, run by one of our golfers and committee members Erich Bucher and his wife Angela.
If you own rental property and would like some excellent support in managing it, contact Erich, either in person at the club or on email at: erich@arjay.co.nz. And don’t forget to salute his hole sponsor sign on the 17th!
Wednesday Club Results for 14 October:
Wednesday Club 14 Oct’ Results:
A fabulous day on our beautiful Golf Course.....the newly cored greens, sanded and swept, gave up some really good scores from the 33 enthusiasts participating in the Stableford competition.
The winner with 43 points was Tim Allison and runner up by count back from Guy Walmsley was Jack Web with 38 points – golf balls presented down to 35 points.
A Two on the 6th by Saint Kennach and the Prodrive Sponsors Voucher for ‘Nearest the Pin’ on the 4th was claimed by Guy Walmsley who only just missed his putt thus forfeited the usual $1.
Athol Swann took the opportunity to expand his game in the beautiful weather and took out the err..appropriate prize!
The weekly raffle was won by Martin Leung, 2nd Geoff Lee and 3rd Dick Adam.
Great to see Kevin Norquay and John Timperley out with us on Wednesdays again and there was a tremendous round of applause for the generous services of Keith Gaskin who not only gave up his Wednesday Golf to brush the sand into the cored greens this
day but who also organised a team to remove the corings the previous day.
Three 9 Holers ventured out and spent most of their time admiring the gorgeous surroundings.
Looking forward to seeing even more next week.
India Cup has been deferred for the time being
We have decided to delay the India Cup. There have been too many things on and not enough hands on deck to put the work in it deserves. All those slots for this weekend are now open for members and casuals.
