News

It is with regret that we announce that Pat Redmond has resigned, effective 21 February.

Pat has given the club exceptional service as a greenkeeper over nearly 40 years. His knowledge of the Golf Course is second to none and he will be greatly missed.

We wish Pat all the best with his next venture.

We are moving immediately to recruit a new, and hopefully experienced, greenkeeper but in the meantime new projects on the course will again be delayed.

This Weekend

We have the Division 12 Inter Club team at home on Saturday Morning and also the first round of the Autumn Cup, tick the box when you get your card. On Sunday it’s the normal Club Day competition along with the Monthly Medal off any marker.

Diplomats Day

Entries are open for this regular annual event.

You may register on line through the Karori Golf Club website, or by writing your name on the entry sheet in the foyer, or by replying to me at my email clubcaptain@karorigolf.co.nz

Entries for this event will close on Friday 24 February in order that a draw can be completed.  Please do not reckon on post entries as if the field is full there will be no room.

Casual tee bookings will be closed of at 8.00am and will not reopen until late afternoon in order that golfers in the "shotgun start event" can have uninterrupted use of the course.Tee time is 11am and the Diplomatic Golfing Society shout morning tea from 10am on the day.

The competition is stableford and twos, and is open to all Karori members and affiliated guests.Enter as soon as possible to avoid the disappointment of missing out on this fun event.

Carts

We have had an issue recently with members taking Carts without booking them, leaving those members and visitors who booked a cart without one, and putting our staff in a difficult position.

Carts must be booked online through the tee booking system. ( The only exception is Wednesday Club, in this instance arrangements must be made with the manager)

It's a very simple process, just tick the cart button on your booking if it highlights, your booking will indicate you have booked a cart, see the image on the left below.

If it doesn't highlight the booking system will let you know that there are no carts available see the image on the right below.

Twilight

With 22 dedicated Twilight golfers enjoying yet another superb day on the course, it was another hugely enjoyable evening and many of us also to advantage of best blackberry crop in years!

Once more, the in-form Karen Simcox played beautifully, sharing top spot with Stuart Boston - both getting an impressive 22 stablefords.  Snapping at their heels were Ryan Du Plessis,Tim Brosnan and Ossie on 21 and, although playing 'most golf', Mark Telfer also got a '2', taking his winnings to two golf balls. Geoff Lee also had a 2 and was nearest to the pin and I'm pleased to report that there was no further damage to the course infrastructure from his sometimes wayward golf cart!  We were very well supported by Robyn - the new manager who fitted-in beautifully.  Good times indeed.

Tuesday Ladies

Another lovely day for 9 holes of golf and 18 members turned up for our first Medal (Nett) competition of the year.  Marion Thompson was a clear winner on a nett 30, followed by Kath Robinson on nett 33.

Wednesday Competition

Great weather yesterday for the 21 people who played in a Par competition.

Saint was the winner on +6 with Terry McAlister second on +4. Balls were given down to +3 (5 people). Patrick was nearest the pin and had the only two. Gerd won the raffle with Martin second and Patrick third. Great scoring by many who enjoyed the run, while others enjoyed the blackberries.
