Matt’s Message: (Greenkeeper’s memo)

Members are allowed carts again this weekend but please do take extreme care when driving around the course. There are still some wet patches that need to be avoided and stay clear of slopes while on carts.

All the filled in bunkers are still treated as GUR along with any tire marks from the course machinery over the past few days. Currently we are out of white paint to draw the lines around these areas so please use common sense, take the drop and help protect the course.

As usual please keep up with the good work of replacing divots and repairing pitch marks, there has been a noticeable improvement in recent weeks so thank you everyone for doing your part.

Club Incidents - Please be careful!

Over the weekend someone had maliciously put broken glass in the hole on the 18th green.

Please take care while out on the course and check before sticking your hand in the holes.

The Karori Golf Club Committee will take serious action and report to the authorities anyone who undertakes such malicious intent.

Wednesday Club

There was a small turnout of just 19 players who set off in excellent conditions. The winner on countback was Christopher Pearce with +2. Perry was the unlucky second also on +2. Chris selected the chocolates for his prize (rather than 3 golf balls) and Perry took the chocolate biscuits (rather than 2 golf balls). Golf balls were given down to -1. Alex was nearest the pin on the 4th but had to donate a dollar for missing his two. There were no twos on the day. Raffle prizes went to Terry and Marcus. Gunter won at the wrong end of the competition. The bottle of white wine still has two bonus golf balls attached to it as a winning prize option. The bottle of red is ageing nicely.

Westward Ho Final

The final of the Westward Ho competition will be played on Sunday with Matt Roche and Hector Slade going against each other, good luck to both players.

UNCLAIMED ITEMS IN TRUNDLER ROOM

Don’t get caught out! - This is a reminder time is running out to get your gear in the trundler room labelled. A great job is being done trying to organise this room in a systematic way. There are name tags you can write your name on and attach to your trundler and/or locker so we know this item has been claimed. You have less than a month to name your gear. On the 1st of September any items not labelled will either be rehomed or discarded.
