It is with great pleasure I announce that the Karori midweek Interclub team are bringing home once again the Bronze Pennants in 2016.

After the persistent rain yesterday and last night, the course at Te Marua turned out to be unexpectedly playable and pleasant today. Weather was good – warm and calm. The Karori team had excellent performance beating Masterton 4.5 – 1.5, after a hard battle with very tight matches ending only on the 16th, 17th and 18th.

Prize-giving will be on the Field Day on Monday, 4 July, at Paraparaumu. Sue McLaren, Elizabeth Wagner, Shelley Hall and Denise Marten will represent Karori to play on the Field Day and I will join in later for the prize-giving.

It has been several years since we last won the Pennants, and hopefully we will keep doing that in the years ahead. Welcome to Shelley and Denise, who are in the winning Pennants team for the first time.

Many thanks to all those who played and volunteered to be as reserve in the season, plus all those who helped in the hosting of the Pennants matches held in Karori. Masterton is a big club with plenty of players to choose from. We struggle at times to make up a full team, but everyone’s devotion and commitment has helped to beat the odds.
