COURSE CLOSED:
Please note that the course will be closed all day on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th September. No play is permitted. TK and the team will be coring, sanding and seeding the greens. It was hoped that we could keep 9 holes open but as the weather is against us, the decision is to close the course for 2 days while the coring and maintenance of the greens is carried out. We have a very short window in which to carry out this much needed work on the greens. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Weekly Update from TK and Green Staff:
 
It’s that time of the year (renovations). Everything has been tested and is on site ready to go. Our sand was delivered this morning and the boys are eager to get it out. We have tested all the irrigation so the greens won’t dry out so bring on Monday morning. Pray the weather doesn’t change. Thanks for your patience while the course is closed next Monday and Tuesday – we do appreciate it!.

The Great New Zealand Tee Off:
Karori Golf Club has joined 180 golf clubs across New Zealand to help raise funds for three great charities - The CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust, Hope Without Fear & Movember.
The club has donated two tee times (to see tee times visit www.greatnzteeoff.co.nz). Members, general public and corporates will be able to bid for each of the tee times via the online fundraising platform GalaBid with all money raised going to the three charities. The auction begins on September 1 & runs till 8pm 27th September.

Twilight Golf:
Daylight saving is coming and twilght golf will be starting again on Thursday 5th October until April 2024. Tee off is from 4:30 - 5:15pm.
Twilight Golf is open to ALL whatever your level. The cost is $20 per person which gives you 9 holes of golf and a gourmet BBQ as well as prizes. Bring your friends along for an enjoyable evening of golf and great clubroom atmosphere after the round.
City of Wellington Classic:
Put the 4th November in your diaries. This is Karori Golf Club’s premier event for 2023. Great prizes to be won. 2 Men’s Divisions and a Women’s Division. Entry fee for members is $40.

9-hole Midweek Ladies Report:
The 9 holers enjoyed another spectacular day for competing in their Tuesday ISTAS competition. Marge Alcock came a comfortable first, followed by Marion Thompson and third equal were Jane Campbell, Hilary Newby and Trish Titcombe. Some of the players were pleased to report there was a little more run than normal. Thank you to the busy greenkeepers.
We were also fortunate to be joined for the second week by a new 9 hole member Lauren Robey. Welcome Lauren. We hope you enjoy your golfing with us.
Also we would like to wish all the members that are in poor health or injured, a very speedy recovery.
Wednesday Club:
Twenty-two golfers set forth in ideal conditions in a Stableford competition. Ossie was the winner on 40 points and took home a bottle of fine red wine. Ian Bates was second on 38 points. Balls were given down to 35 points. Our visitor, Nic Williams, was nearest the pin and can collect a ball for a $1 payment to the pig. Marcus had two twos (6th and 13th) and Jim Waters pitched in for a two on the 4th.
Two raffles were drawn. In the weekly cash raffle Christopher Pearce took the $20 first prize, with Graham Crocker taking $10 for second. In the Red & White wine raffle, Gunter won a couple of bottles of wine, and Mike Cox won a sleeve of Titleist TruFeel.
