Harcourts Twilight Thursday 30th November

Another perfect night for Twilight golf this week - what a great run we've had this year and it looks set to continue. A good turnout of 23 golfers competing for the prize money and a very high winning score of 27 points scored by Wayne Cook ($20). Joint second Phil Robinson and Brad Weemes on 24 points ($15), followed by Peter Nichols, Richard Reith and Sally Combly on 21 points ($10), and Mark Dinsdale on 20 points ($5). The consolation prize went to Doug Calhoun. We had two first time players this week - Doug Langford and Carey Clements and it was great to see Mark Dinsdale join for the first time this year. Thanks to Sara for preparing dinner, and everyone who helped with the bbq.

We have introduced a $5 voucher for any first time players this week, so we hope to see more new faces at Twilight - all members, friends and visitors are very welcome to join the fun. Tee off is between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, followed by a bbq dinner and prize giving.

Wednesday Club

Wednesday Club Results for 29th November:

Another fine Wednesday resulted in some 60% of the 35 entered in the disc draw for the Par Competition scoring a par round or better!

With the fairways hard and fast together with the greens so true we’re so fortunate to have a Golf Course a pleasure to play upon – well done the Greens Team.

Seven 9 holers also had great fun out there working on that tan under the sun block and avoiding dehydration by having bottles of water etc on board!

The outright winner was Arvind Zodgekar on +7..! Followed by runner up Steve Robinson +6 by count back from Peter Kennedy, Graeme Crocker, Peter Wilcox, and Tim Allison. Further prizes were awarded to those with +4 or better. Doug Calhoun managed to ward off contenders to take the prize for most persistence. Nearest the pin on the 4th and scoring the only “Two” of the day was Tim Allison sinking a tricky six footer!

The weekly Raffle was won by No 30 held by Graham Presland, 2nd No 28 held by Arvind Zodgekar and 3rd No 12 Kevin Corrin.

Nice to see Steve Hunger (Boulcott’s Farm Heritage GC) a past member, also Jeff Haig (Titahi Bay GC), another former member, and Ben Paradza who has not been able to join us on Wednesdays for some time.

PLEASE NOTE: NEXT WEDNESDAY 6th DECEMBER – Wednesday Club Annual Prize Presentations. EARLIER DISC DRAW at 10.25 am. This is to facilitate an early finish to the Stableford Competition, a few nibbles ets and Presentations. Please be early...! Cheers, DS

The fourteenth hole is the second of the only 2 Par 5s (for men) on the course. At 400m in length, it is not especially long but gets its Par 5 rating from being slightly uphill for most of its length. It is sponsored by Chapman Tong Law, a boutique law firm which prides itself on being able to provide old fashioned personal service to a wide range of clients.
