With the Greens in fab’ condition...due in no small part due to the new Greens Mower the weather really turned it on - almost too hot to play in the early part of the round but the predicted Southerly charged in and changed all that. Still very good scoring for the Par competition contested by 26 enthusiasts who were followed by 9 Nine Holers who enjoyed a lovely time in the sun.
The winner was Derek Fitzgibbon who finished +6, a really great round and Runner-up by count back was Patrick Cordue +5 from Chris Pearce. Golf Balls distributed to those on +3 while Graeme Crocker managed to chalk up sufficient golf to take away the unmentionable prize! There was only a single TWO by Steve Robinson on the 6th while John McDougall collected the Prodrive Sponsors Voucher for nearest the Pin on the 4th , however not only missing the put for the Two but the next one got away as well ....hence duly paid the total $2 fine on return to the clubhouse.
The weekly Raffle was won by Albert Wong, 2nd by David Burton and 3rd was Derek Fitzgibbon.
Chris Pearce introduce Karori Member Ngatau Hemopo making his first visit to the Wednesday Club and we all look forward to seeing him again on future similar occasions..
Sara turned on some delicious sandwiches etc to finish off a perfect day and as Spring relentlessly approaches, hopefully more will join us in the sun on our beautiful Course.
It really is a special place and those who can make it are assured of a relaxing “Golf” experience.
Cheers, DS
