An amazingly beautiful day allowed all 26 entries for the Wednesday Club Par competition to have a wonderful day in the sun. The pursuing seven 9 Holers were also treated to the superb conditions although some of us were a little over dressed, probably due to the forecasted low temperatures – “Global Warming” is a reality!
The winner of the Par competition was Ian Patience on +4 and runner up was Graeme Crocker with +3 so well played you guys. Golf balls distributed down to –1 with five packets of golf tees donated by Don McCrone were handed out to those with scores below. There were three “Two’s” with two of them by Ken Spark on holes 2 & 4 and Ian Bates on hole 13. The Prodrive sponsors Voucher for nearest the pin on the 4th was lifted by Satish Chandra who unfortunately failed to convert the putt with the consequential $1 duly paid in the clubhouse. Interestingly there was a count back for Saint Kannache to establish the ultimate award for perseverance.
To wind up a near perfect day the weekly raffle was won by Ian Bates, 2nd was David Ainsworth and 3rd Chris Pearce.
Many thanks to Sara for preparing those wonderful sandwiches, scones and cakes – would be great to see them ALL disappear!
Judging by the attendant Bird song Spring is almost upon us so we look forward to seeing even more adventurers next week.
Cheers
DS
PS:
It’s our course....
In these damp conditions Pitch marks on the greens need to be repaired, whether made by your ball or not, AND divots replaced or if the Sod has disintegrated, repaired by use of say a Sand Wedge blade chopping across the sides towards the centre and lightly trodden down also even if it’s not your divot please. This will ensure that when the warmer dryer weather comes along there won’t be so many bare patches on the fairways and indeed the rough!
